Instructor Bios
All EQUIP Instructors are locally and federally background checked and complete training courses and certifications for student safety.
Ms. Bec earned her bachelor’s degree in Education at Nova Southeastern University. She homeschools her three children, which all attend Equip. She is a Florida certified teacher and also enjoys serving the homeschooling community by providing yearly testing and portfolio reviews for student annual evaluations. She loves teaching and considers it a “God-given privilege to be able to invest in each student’s life.”. Prior to having children of her own, Ms. Bec taught in Broward County’s public school system. Currently, Ms. Bec teaches the 5th grade courses, as well as Middle School Math and all of the Writing/Grammar courses. She also serves as an administrator for the program.
Rebecca Ramirez
Ms. Dawn studied at BCC and FIU. After having children she entered the unexpected world of homeschooling. She homeschooled four over 26 years supporting many families along the way. After her son was diagnosed with cancer, she began a non-profit foundation, which she still runs to this day. Ms. Dawn is passionate about literature, history, and teaching the integrity and sufficiency of God's Word. In addition to teaching, Dawn serves as an administrator for the program alongside Ms. Bec. Dawn shares, “It is a blessing and privilege to come alongside other families who have made the decision and commitment to homeschool!”

Robin Parker graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance. Robin homeschooled all 5 of their children over 26 years and has seen all their children graduate from college. In 2011, Robin found her niche when she was asked to tutor other homeschool students and discovered a love of learning as well as delight in seeing the “light bulb” go on when a student finally understood a difficult subject. Robin excels in teaching higher level math and logic and is a coveted instructor in the homeschool community for a variety of programs. Equip is blessed to have Ms. Parker on staff.
Robin Parker
Johnny is a chemical engineer with a Master of Science from the University of Puerto Rico and has fulfilled all academic requirements towards a Ph.D. at N. Carolina State University. He has worked as a graduate research assistant and has experience assisting in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. He worked for Creation Studies Institute academic programs leading Spanish outreach efforts, and teaching high-school science to homeschoolers across South Florida. He has a passion to reach English and Spanish-speaking communities with God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s creation.
Johnny Maury
Alibrandi Curran is an Equip alumna. She earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Liberty University and went on to complete the ETHOS School of Leadership through Calvary Chapel. Alibrandi began her own music business teaching piano to students of all ages after graduation while completing her post graduate studies. Alibrandi brings a unique perspective as an EQUIP homeschool graduate and is passionate about teaching other homeschool students about the beauty and benefits of this lifestyle of learning. She encourages them to be self organized and disciplined in their studies and personal life. She is a wife, mother and digital creator.

Cristy has tutored the exact sciences and Spanish since she was a freshman in college. The past 10 years, she has tutored middle and high school students in the private sector. Homeschool Co-ops in the area describe Cristy as a “dynamic instructor” because of her class-engaging activities to enhance learning. Cristy also works as a Substitute Teacher in private schools from Boca Raton to Pompano Beach “for fun,” as she likes to describe it. Cristy graduated from George Mason University in Virginia, but her high school years were spent in Bolivia where she graduated from high school, top of her class, as a fully bilingual student.

Mr. Jared Parker began as our math tutor assisting EQUIP students who needed extra support and now serves in the math program as an instructor. Jared was homeschooled as the youngest of 5 children. He graduated with highest honors with an Associate of Arts in Mechanical Engineering. During his time in college, he found a passion for helping fellow students excel in various subjects. He enjoys helping homeschool students excel in math and go beyond what they think they are capable of accomplishing. Jared works with several homeschool programs in South Florida to provide math support to homeschool students.
Jared Parker
Laura Pittman completed her student teaching at Miami Country Day School and Cushman School of Miami. She graduated from Trinity International University with a degree in Education. She home-educated her two children for 16 years. and has been immersed in the homeschool community through academics and sports. Laura served 19 years in the Children and Student ministry in Miami. She also served with the North American Mission Board in Creative Arts and Evangelism.
